Week Five
This week, I assisted the South Mountain Environmental
Education Center with their various events. The first event I helped out with
was their Astronomy Night. They had
an astronomer come out and give an interactive lecture about light followed by
a telescope viewing. I found the lecture quite enjoyable despite the light turnout.
The second event I helped out with was an event put together by land developers
called, “a taste of South Phoenix”. It was a gathering of various food venues
and organizations found in South Phoenix. Although, I enjoyed most of what I
partook in, I enjoyed meeting established professionals in both science and environment
careers the most.
Rafael, I am really excited for you that you got to participate in those events. I myself haven’t been able to attend one yet. However, I know how much you look forward to being on the constant go, meeting new people, and doing new things! Hopefully, I can attend the following one with you. It is always interesting when we learn together because of our different work and thought process!
ReplyDeleteThis event sounds so cool. Did it happen to be free for the public? Also what was your roll in helping. I would love to meet an astronomer. I know I would be annoying and ask too many questions. In addition, what was your favorite food that was served? I can't wait to read your future blogs!
